How this word counter works

Paste or type text into the box to update every statistic immediately. The counter recognizes Unicode letters and numbers, so accented characters and non-English writing systems are treated as text instead of being discarded. Apostrophes and hyphens inside a word are kept with that word.

The tool reports:

• Words and unique words
• Characters with and without whitespace
• Sentences, paragraphs, and lines
• Average word and sentence length
• Estimated reading and speaking time
• The five most frequent non-trivial words and their density

Reading and speaking estimates

Reading time uses a fixed estimate of 200 words per minute. Speaking time uses 130 words per minute. Both values are rounded up to the nearest minute, so short text displays as one minute. These are planning estimates rather than predictions: technical material, unfamiliar names, pauses, and presentation style can change the real duration.

Keyword density

Keyword density is the number of times a word appears divided by the total word count. The list ignores a small set of common English words and terms shorter than three characters. It is useful for spotting accidental repetition, but it is not an SEO score and should not be used to force phrases into otherwise natural writing.

Paragraph and sentence limits

Blank lines separate paragraphs. Sentence counting looks for groups ending in a period, exclamation mark, or question mark, plus any final text without punctuation. Abbreviations, decimal numbers, dialogue, and unusual punctuation can make automated sentence counts differ from an editor's interpretation.

Privacy and exports

Your text is analyzed inside the current browser tab and is not uploaded to MiniUtil. You can copy the statistics summary or download it as a plain-text file. The original text is not included in that statistics export and is not automatically saved by this tool.
